Our story

Bali's calm, on Kenya's quietest beach

Maya Kobe sits directly on Bofa Beach, one of the most beautiful stretches of Kenya's north coast. Five ocean suites are built from natural materials and rich textures, each opening onto the garden, the pool and the Indian Ocean beyond.

A 20-metre pool runs from the suites to the white sand. An open gazebo looks out over the water, and private massage huts sit right on the beach. Stay in a single suite, or take the whole estate for your family, friends or celebration.

Sea turtles still come ashore along this coast. We built Maya Kobe to move at their pace: slowly, lightly, leaving the beach as we found it.

Can I book just one suite?

Yes. Individual suites suit couples and small groups. You can also book the whole property for up to 12 guests, or 16 with the Prestige Suite.

What is the Prestige Suite?

A private two-bedroom suite with its own pool and open-air bathtub, sleeping up to 4. Book it on its own or as part of a full buyout.

How do I get there?

Mombasa Moi International Airport is about an hour away by road, and Nairobi JKIA connects by air. Our team arranges transfers on request.

Is Maya Kobe part of Tribal Dunes?

Yes. Guests walk to Tribal Table restaurant, Tribal Kite School and, soon, Somewhere Café and the Off Duty coworking hotel.

What activities can you arrange?

Kitesurfing, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, dhow cruises on Kilifi Creek, Tsavo safaris and wellness sessions, all quoted within 24 hours.
